Overview:

In response to the conflict in Ukraine, UNICEF established a Refugee Response Office in Poland that works with local and national partners to strengthen services for refugee children and their families. This position, Procurement Associate, will perform complex procurement functions and manage a range of supply chain activities pertaining to planning, passing, and execution up to delivery. A high degree of independence and professional expertise are expected in this position in supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Management:

Handle complex procurement processes and resolve intricate problems.

Manage the full supply chain process and contribute to improving supply chain operations.

2. System and Process Improvement:

Provide input on how best to develop more effective supply chain services and processes.

3. Relationship Management:

Develop and foster professional relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.

 Present reports and justifications of procurement decisions.

4. Technical Skills:

Utilize effectively the MS Office tool ERP systems like SAP, among others.

Execute administrative work on procurement.

Qualifications:

 Education:

Secondary education is a must; technical training or university courses related to supply chain management or in business administration, contract law, or any related field.

A university degree may replace partly the work experience. (Bachelor’s degree = 3 years of exp; Master’s degree = additional 2 years).

Experience:

At least six years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management or a commercial environment. Knowledge of development or humanitarian work is an advantage.

Skills:

Proficient in MS Office applications; experience in ERP systems, such as SAP, is a plus. Ability to establish effective working relationships and write clear reports.

 Languages:

Eloquence in English and Polish. know-how of another UN languages useful advantage, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish.

Desirable Attributes:

In depth knowledge of supply chain policy, partnership mechanisms, and local Polish law.

Experience in developing countries or in emergency situations.
